Leiden MUN is an independent, non-profit, student-led MUN programme, established in 2005. Every academic year, we select, train and send different delegations composed of talented and motivated students to the most prestigious Model United Nations conferences worldwide.

The Leiden MUN Programme

Before each conference, our delegates must complete a Prep Track: a special training programme composed of 4 key elements.

Skills Labs

Practical training sessions, held every Tuesday evening in the Hague, that help you master public speaking, lobbying, research, and resolution writing, giving you the tools to perform with confidence at any MUN conference.
These sessions turn theory into practice, ensuring that you develop the essential skills step by step in a supportive environment.

Mock Sessions

Weekly practice debates (Wednesday evenings in the Hague) where delegates apply their skills in real MUN simulations. By representing UN member states, engaging in negotiations, and drafting resolutions, you gain hands-on experience that prepares you to excel at conferences.

PDP Mentoring

Through our special Personal Development Programme, you will receive one-on-one mentoring from an experienced Board Member who will guide you in building confidence, leadership, and professional skills. Together, you will identify your strengths, set personal goals, and work on practical strategies to help you grow not only as an MUN delegate, but as a future professional.

Networking

Gain first-hand insights into diplomacy through exclusive embassy visits, round-table discussions, and meetings with ambassadors and high-ranking officials. These experiences broaden your perspective on international relations while giving you the chance to build valuable connections for your future career.
